Turning Music Into Phone Accessories: Making Ringtones
There is one feature of handset phones that sets the cell phone apart from regular telephones besides its portability: it has the capability to change most of its basic features at the will of its owner. Personal customization is almost always a good thing; it marks one article or possession with your own signature for people to easily see it as yours without even the need to put your name on that object! Research in our current micro-technology have made it possible to have an almost infinite number of customizations possible on mobile phones. If you’re thinking up of a good customization for your mobile phones, I can advise that you make ringtones to further personalize your phone.
If this is your first time on 21st century planet Earth, ringtones are used on cellular phones for several alerting purposes such as call alerts and message alerts, usually sounding off a signature harmonic tune or a specific sound. This is what makes them different from the conventional irritating ringing sound (to which you hurriedly answer sometimes not because the call is urgent, but the ringing sound is just too damn noisy) of landline telephones, because most normal ringtones would almost always give either a catchy tune, a distinct harmonious melody, or an unnatural sound such as techno robotic beats, or even a drill sergeant’s voice hollering at you to pick up the phone.
In making a ringtone for your cellular phone, you would need a program that can enable you to compose music, which is easily accessible because most of them are already built into mobile phones after the 1st generation post-modern mobile phone models. However, a little musical talent may be necessary to create music properly.
Detail in making ringtones have now developed to a very high level, thanks to the introduction of polyphonic sounds and MP3 technology to bring music right into your handset phone as ringtones. Like having an MP3 player in your cellular phone, it sometimes hypnotizes you to the catchy tune, sometimes making me unable to answer a phone call immediately.
There are also more for ringtone use in PC’s, whenever you feel like the editing software built in mobile phone aren’t enough. Furthermore, the richness of the entire melody of ringtones is now so complicated, that separating them from ordinary music is now technically impossible (creating the dilemma that I have told you earlier). However, I recommend that only real experts use these programs for maximum effect, since you really need to have a good idea about creating music before using any of these programs.
Nevertheless, making ringtones is nothing less than the luxury of being able to make your
mobile phone stand-out, an item having a label that is yours and yours alone.
how to buy a microscope ?
Hi,
I'd like to buy a microscope for hobby purposes, to see cells, micro organisms, bacteria and internal cell structure as well a s other specimens.
Please advice what magnification I should go for, I'm completely unaware of any tech specs of a microscope... (I'm a software programmer anyway)
My budget is around $200
I recently purchased a couple scopes for a home lab for my kids. One was a stereo scope (often called a dissection scope) with 20x and 40x setttings. It's great for looking at bugs, coins, hair, moss, crystals. It's a JenCo ST-804. I got it for under $300 new, retail is $400.
Sounds like you want a compound scope, though. I bought one fo those as well from JenCo. Standard compound scopes have 40x, 100x, and 400x. At 400x you can see that a bacterium is there, but not many details. You can see a paramecium, onion cells, etc though. Your scope in high school probably had these 3 mag levels. I bought the cheapest one they sold for around $150. That said, it's sufficient for my kids (oldest is 8, youngest is 1).
I'm looking at a trinocular (lets you see microrganisms in 3D, and attach a digital camera so other people can see what you're doing) with a mechanical stage that also has a 1000X oil-immersion capability. It's going to be over $800.
It's definitely worth your time to look around, get your hands on whatever model you find. I would never buy a scope that I hadn't actually used. Used scope from schools are often cheap, but the students thrash them. www.greatscopes.com has a lot of good info. Here's the summary:
all metal gears
co-axial focus
DIN objectives (these are the standard thread size, and let you upgrade later)
par-focaled and par-centered
all-metal body
Everything else is optional: iris instead of diaphragm apertures, mechanical stage, floursecent vs halogen lighting, plan or semi-plan objectives.
Sonlight sells what looks like a good scope, so does greatscopes.com. I bought the Jenco because it was a local company, I went to the shop and they let me try it out, and it's great quality for the price.
Trending With #SecClinton: A Conversation in Manila (dipnote)
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was in Manila November 15-16,
2011 to participate in the 60th anniversary celebration of the
U.S.-Philippines Mutual Defense Treaty (MDT) and to launch the implementation
phase of the Partnership for Growth (PFG) with the Philippines.
Her visit included meetings with Philippine President Benigno Aquino and
Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario; a signing of the "Manila
Declaration" reaffirming our nations' commitments under the 1951 Mutual
Defense Treaty and charting a course for our alliance in the 21st century; a
signing of the Partnership for Growth statement of principles; and a televised
live social media conversation with Filipino youth in Manila.
U.S. Embassy Manila's Public Affairs Section teamed up with one of the leading
local television networks in the Philippines -- GMA -- and with
telecommunications company PLDT to deliver a high-tech, youth-focused dialogue
between Secretary Clinton and Filipino youth across the country. The Secretary
wowed the Philippines in this youth-focused event that was broadcast live on
TV and streamed on the Internet, thus enabling her to reach out to a far
broader audience during her visit.
Combining elements of a town hall meeting, a televised interview, and a
webchat, "A Conversation ...
