New Hybrid Car For The Future
By new hybrid car we refer to any vehicle that relies on two separate power sources for propulsion. There are all sorts of alternative power sources among which we can count wind, natural gas in liquid or compressed form, rechargeable units, wood, coal and the like. The very concept of new hybrid car designates electric vehicles that adapt the usage of an internal combustion engine to that of the electrical batteries.
As mentioned above, there are other hybrid vehicles beside the new hybrid car we will mainly deal with here. Mopeds and electric bicycles make the most relevant of examples here. These are the rather basic forms of hybrid vehicles. They combine the power from an internal combustion engine or electric motor with the power of the rider’s muscles. Then there are hybrid heavy vehicles like railway locomotives, buses, heavy goods vehicles, ships or mobile hydraulic machinery. Normally, the term new hybrid car-vehicle is used to refer to hybrid electric vehicles. This category includes the next types of automotives: AHS2 (Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Silverado, Cadillac Escalade, Saturn Vue), Toyota Prius, Ford Escape Hybrid, Toyota Highlander Hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid, Honda Civic Hybrid, Honda Insight and many others. A petroleum-electric new hybrid car usually gets its power from an internal combustion engine (gasoline or diesel engine) and an electric battery.
The beginnings of the hybrid car date back to the late 1900s when David Arthurs, an electrical engineer from Arkansas, invented the braking regenerative hybrid. Besides the new hybrid car as mentioned above, which uses two or more different propulsion devices, there are also vehicles which use distinct sources of energy or input types but only one engine. Though there is a certain similarity to a new hybrid car, distinctions do exist. In fact, vehicles with double or multiple energy sources are dual mode automotive systems of the trolley type.
There are lots of advantages to buying a new hybrid car, and the green considerations are not the only ones. First, there is the aspect of fuel economy, and secondly, the benefit for the environment and, implicitly, for humankind is undeniable in the fight to reduce pollution. There is a triple combination of factors that make the design of a new hybrid car so appropriate for our times: first there is the combination gas-electricity, secondly, the battery comes with a high storage capacity, and thirdly, the kinetic energy wasted by braking is recuperated and reused.
Could harnessing wind and wave power cause climate change?
Since Winds and Ocean currents have a direct affect on the Earth's climate and weather, could extracting more and more energy from these kinetic systems ultimately cause a change in the climate?
In comparison to the total energy contained in wind and waves, the amount that could be harvested is so insignificantly small that it would have no effect. This is not something where the by product is causing pollution or poisoning the environment to any degree. No, it this energy can be harvested, we should do it.
IBM predicts mind reading in five years (cnet)
As part of its annual list of five-year predictions, Big Blue is suggesting
that, among other things, people will be able to utilize computing technology
to figure out some of what others are thinking. Also, we'll never need
passwords again. The world is changing fast--maybe faster than we ever
thought. And within five years, science fiction is going to turn into non-
fiction. We'll be able to read each other's minds, forget all our passwords,
and create all our own homes' energy. These are just three of the five
predictions IBM announced this morning as part of its annual "5 in 5"
prognostication project. The list is meant to promote long-term work being done
under Big Blue's Smarter Planet initiative--and the company says "5 in 5"
already has a track record of success. In 2008, IBM says, it suggested that
within five years, consumers would talk to the Web--and the Web would
respond. This time, the predictions are perhaps a bit more fanciful:Mind
reading is no longer science fiction. You will be able to power your home with
the energy you create yourself. You will never need a password again. The
digital divide will cease to exist.Junk mail will become priority ...
