Rugged Compact Lights For The AR-15
Aiming and illumination solutions have become ever lighter and more compact. LED lights can offer both illumination, short range aiming and the ability to blind an opponent at close range. The LED has revolutionized the lamp's reliability, power and the life of batteries and lasers add the capability to aim fast and accurately at short engagement ranges.
The Surefire X300 is a very compact and bright 170 lumen light will not burn out or break like legacy incandescent lights. Even with batteries, the light weighs only as much as an Aimpoint T-1 red dot sight. The X300 arrives ready to fit to Weaver or Picatinny rails and with an adapter for universal rails. The light is equipped with a switch with momentary and full on/off capability that be switched with one finger. Remote and pistol grip mounted switches are available for this unit. The unit is ultra rugged aluminum, Type III hard anodized matte black and waterproof to 22 meters.
The Surefire X400 adds a very powerful 5 milliwatt, 635 nanometer aiming laser that is almost twice as bright as that of its brightest competitor. Light only, laser only and combined modes are easily selected. It is possible to deactivate the unit to prevent inadvertent activation. This lamp also mounts on the three most popular rails. Nylok screws prevent the adjusters from moving under recoil or vibration. The laser hardly ever needs zeroing.
The Surefire M952V is an LED gun light that gives both white light and IR illumination by turning and pushing the lens housing. Powered by a pair of CR123 batteries the M952V puts out 150 lumens for 1.8 hours or 120 mW for 8 hours for NV use. The momentary on/off switching can be done via the rear mounted switch or a pressure pad on a 7" cable that gives a momentary on/off. This light comes with a rugged, throw-lever actuated quick release mount for Weaver or Picatinny rails.
